API questions
Coming soon. There is no date yet. Until then, MCP works today for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and other MCP tools, with the same tools the API will use.
The plan is the same tools as the app: clients, time, invoices and quotes, dunning, receipts and exports. The requests on this page are a preview and can still change.
That is one of the main things the API is for: your shop, booking tool or platform creates the invoice in Backbone, and Backbone numbers it, checks the mandatory details and sends it. Until the API is live, you can do the same in the app or through MCP.
That is not final yet. There are no API tokens yet: MCP signs in with OAuth as a real person in your workspace, so roles and confirmations apply. How the API signs in will be published with it.
Pricing for the API has not been announced yet. The app, the AI Connector and MCP are included in every plan.
