## What you can ask your AI agent now

Connect Backbone once through the AI connector to ChatGPT, Claude and many more. From then on you ask like you would ask a colleague, and Backbone answers with cards, from your month’s status to sending it to your bookkeeper. Our guides for ChatGPT and Claude show you how to connect.

## How Backbone does it

New in Backbone 

1. **Month status** Ask what’s still missing this month and get the answer as a card.
2. **Possible matches** Backbone finds the matching payment for open receipts, foreign currency too. You confirm.
3. **Cash payments** Tap “Paid in cash?” and the receipt lands in the cash book.
4. **To the bookkeeper** Once the month is done, it goes to your bookkeeper with your OK.

### Month & sending

Send the month to your bookkeeper, close it or reopen it. `send_to_bookkeeper`

### Possible matches

Backbone suggests, you confirm each or hit “Confirm all”. `list_match_suggestions`, `set_transaction_match`

### Cash payments

One sentence puts cash receipts in the cash book. `mark_receipt_cash`, `list_receipts`

### Bookkeeping settings

Who does your books, their email language, your sender name and the deadline. `update_bookkeeping_settings`

### Status

What’s still open this month, as a card in the chat. `get_bookkeeping_status`

Anything that sends or books is only a proposal, closing a month included. You see exactly what will happen, and your AI app asks once more before anything runs.

## The new bookkeeping in the app

What you ask in the chat, you also see in the app, and the other way round. Send a past month to your bookkeeper from the chat, and Backbone already marks it done.

**Bookkeeping · month:** The top line tells you how many things are still open, with one row per topic below it, from missing statements to cash payments. You also see your deadline and the key numbers for the month.

**Hub:** Your whole year at a glance, with the same topics as the month. You see what you’ve already handed in and only send what’s new, without sending everything again.

**Uploads:** Your uploads slide in on every bookkeeping page. What needs you sits right at the top, for example, an upload Backbone can’t read.

**Petty cash:** On a cash receipt you tap “Paid in cash?” and it lands in the cash book. If you always pay a vendor in cash, set “Always cash for this vendor” once, and the cash book goes into your export.

**Possible matches:** Backbone suggests receipts and transactions that probably belong together, foreign currencies too, converted at the ECB reference rate. Nothing is matched until you confirm, and Backbone remembers what doesn’t fit.

**Upload corner:** A pile of files from the whole month? Just drop it in the bottom-right corner, and Backbone tells receipts and statements apart on its own.

Two ways. Easy and easier: open Bookkeeping in Backbone, and a short tour walks you through it the first time. Or connect your AI app and ask: “What’s still missing for this month?”
